Meet Our Team

Amy Rutledge

Amy is our wonderful and talented practice manager that keeps everything in line here at Brighton. She grew up right here in Lexington and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. Amy has been here with us since 2005 and has been our practice manager since 2009. Amy resides in Lexington with her boyfriend, Jay, where they are owned by their pets; Meg, a collie mix and Mazzy, a jack russell mix; their three cats, Marilyn, Kennedy, and Sylvia; and one rabbit, Bucky O'Hara.


Holly Johnson

If you've ever had your pet groomed here at Brighton, chances are that Holly took a part in getting them all spiffed up for you! Holly lives on a small farm in Berea, which is also home to several chickens, two miniature horses, Tonky and Gypsey; a pot bellied pig, Rudy; a rabbit, Sugar; and three dogs, Charlie the border collie, Lloyd the bloodhound, and Willow the boston terrier. Holly gained her love of animals from her father. Both have always enjoyed the rewarding feeling of helping abused ot mistreated animals, who learn to love and trust again. Holly recently lost two of her very best friends to health issues. Maverick, a boston terrier, and Banks, an english bulldog, They will be missed but definitely not forgotten. Holly claims that animals always seem to know to come to her farm, where they will always find a warm place to lay their head, lots of food, and of course, tons of love!


Cindy Carpenter

Ever think about sending your pet out to have a spa day? Well, Cindy is the one to see! Brighton pets love coming to see Miss Cindy to get a day to be pampered and fussed over. Cindy is a Certified Professional Pet Stylist. She graduated from Golden Paws Pet Styling Academy in Berea, Kentucky. Cindy grooms all breeds of dogs and is also a Certified Feline Master groomer with the National Cat Groomers Institue of America. She has bred and showed international winning Ragdolls for fourteen years.


Lisa Stull

Lisa is the smiling face you will often see at our front desk. Lisa is a native of Lexington and a University of Kentucky graduate. She has been with Brighton since 2009, but has worked in other veterinary clinics since 1998. Lisa has fostered numerous dogs while they were waiting to be adopted and has hand raised numerous orphaned kittens and birds. She especially has a soft spot for senior pets and has often adopted several of them when their owners could no longer care for them. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys reading, movies, and traveling. Lisa is a mom to four dogs; Owen, a miniature poodle; Daisy, a beagle; Nicholas, a spaniel/beagle mix; and Loretta, a spaniel mix that was found at Loretta Lynn's family home.


Sarah Sutton

Sarah is full of energy and lots of joy, and it shows in her work! Sarah has been with Brighton since 2006 and has worked as a veterinary assistant and a receptionist. Sarah is originally from Frankfort and now resides in Lexington with her husband, Owen. She enjoys spending lots of time with her family and friends. Sarah is a big kid at heart, and loves to share those kid moments with all of her nieces and nephews. Sarah also enjoys spending time with her dad on their farm in Midway, and visiting their family cow, Bill. Aside from that, Sarah has a cute doggie named, Max, whom she loves oh so dearly!


Jennifer Tosch

Jennifer is often the voice you may hear when you call to schedule your pet's appointment or to get updates from the veterinarians. Jennifer is from Shelbyville, Kentucky and now resides in Georgetown with her boyfriend, Ethan, and their spoiled animals, both of which were rescues, Fred Sanford the cat and Dharma, a golden retriever/yellow lab mix, and two fish, Fender and Gibson. Jennifer has worked primarily in the equine industry, and spent some time as the farm manager of the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. Jennifer spends her spare time as a photographer, volunteering with her horse club, and spending lots of time with her friends and family. Jennifer and her family have bred national champion Arabian horses, some of which Jennifer shows today.


Jerri Lynn Fultz

If anyone is excited about the opening of the new Brighton Animal Clinic, it would definitely be Jerri! Jerri has been with Brighton Animal Clinic as a veterinary assistant now for ten years. Jerri has always had animals in her life and she attributes that to both of her parents. She remembers growing up spending time bottle feeding calves and often taking in strays to help find them new homes. Jerri has two children and is a very proud grandmother of a three year old little boy, Hayden Adam.


Melissa Kowalski

Melissa is another one of our smiling faces you may encounter when arriving at Brighton, as she wears several hats and works as both a veterinary assistant and a receptionist. Melissa is from Knoxville, Tennesee and has been with Brighton since 2008. She enjoys playing volleyball and watching football. Melissa says that pitbulls are her dog of choice. Melissa has two guinea pigs, Tommy Lee and Spike. She also enjoys spending time with her family, including her two sisters and brother. Melissa is also a licensed massage therapist.


Blake Palmer

Blake is another one of our veterinary assistants that exhibits compassion towards every animal he meets. Blake is a native and current resident of Lexington, Kentucky. Blake has recently completed his Bachelor of Arts in Philosohpy from the University of Kentucky. Blake's original intent was to attend law school, but his admiration and passion for animals led him back the University of Kentucky where he is now completing his pre-veterinary curriculum. Blake enjoys spending time playing tennis, cycling, and hiking; or just enjoying the outdoors.


Anne McCain

Anne joined Brighton in the fall of 2011 as yet another one of our wonderful veterinary assistants. Anne was born and raised in Lexington, but spent several years residing in Missouri. Anne recently moved back to the Lexington area, and we are sure glad that she did! Anne enjoys training and showing dogs in obedience and agility. Anne also enjoys horseback riding, reading, watching U.K. basketball, and spending time with her family. She loves to be around or on the water, whether it's at the beach, lake, or river, Anne enjoys it all! Anne is owned by her labrador retriever, border collie, and jack russell terrier.
